“Give thanks to God, who made necessary things simple, and complicated things unnecessary.”

-- Hryhorii Skovoroda, a Ukrainian philosopher (1722 – 1794)

NOOM is a Ukrainian design brand that speaks the clarified and purified language of design. As the Ukrainian philosopher, Hryhorii Skovoroda said, the most necessary things are simple, and since  February 24 we have fully grasped this in a way that has never been possible before. For us 2022 is the year of rethinking, a year of cleansing and gathering. Ukraine’s culture doesn’t have any other way of development than purification by cleansing it of any lingering echoes of totalitarian regimes of the Soviet era. The clearing is the path to self-identification, a tremendous bout of catharsis that reveals the well-spring of life.

“Puriosity”

We developed the name of the exposition “Puriosity” (Pure + Curiosity) in brainstorming. This term is fully described our feelings at this moment. We all aim to be purer in the cultural knowledge of self and curiosity is a basic element of our cognition.

Our exposition “Puriosity” is a visual representation of this philosophy. Pure design is clear and perfect. Pure form, color, and function blended into one curios composition.

The exposition consists of different items, each of which has its own story and concept.  Design is all about exploring.

The driving concept behind our furniture collection relies on the modernism movement and suprematism, invented by Ukrainian artist Kazimir Malevich.  As a century ago art is undergoing a rebirth, getting rid of everything unnecessary.

Ideas of functionalism and conciseness, the combination of design, art and objects formed by a composition of simple geometric shapes, are still relevant. NOOM’s chief designer Kateryna Sokolova has “gathered” the shapes of furniture, lighting, and accessories from simple clean lines and geometric forms. NOOM objects aim to bring a simple aesthetic to any space, but at the same time appeal to interact: to pump, to play, to bubble.

Welcome to take a look at NOOM's staple classics like Gropius chair, Brandt coffee tables, El Lighting, and Suprematic vases, and share with us your visual and tactile experience.
